
A delegation of academics from the Universities of Alberta and MacEwan in Canada and V.l. Vernadsky Taurida and Kiev National Universities in Ukraine, a delegation of academics working on Canadian Indians and Crimean Tatars visited our University after their contacts in Istanbul and Ankara within the scope of their Transatlantic Workshop visits.
The meeting, which was organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Volkan Marttin, a faculty member of ESOGU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, and hosted by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emine Gümüşsoy, was attended by 10 guest lecturers from the mentioned universities, Prof. Dr. Fazıl Tekin, one of our former Rectors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Sami İşlek, International Relations Unit and Erasmus+ Institution Coordinator, Lecturer Emrah Orakcıoğlu and Lecturer Tolga Murat and Dr. Selin Bayrak, who work on Crimean Tatars at ESOGU TÖMER, Recep Şen and İsmet Yüksel, President and Vice President of Eskişehir Crimean Association.
At the meeting, which started with the presentation of Erasmus+ Institution Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. İşlek introducing our University, possible cooperation opportunities were evaluated with the universities to which the participating academics are affiliated, and detailed and mutual presentations were made about the academic studies on Crimean Tatars, who are the most settled in our city in Turkey.
