Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU) Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (ESOGU TÖMER) and ESOGU Center of Excellence in Education and Training organized an online conference titled “Basic Criteria Related to Learning-Teaching Processes in TÖMER Accreditation Studies” with the invited speaker Prof. Dr. Nezir Temur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Language Learning/Preparatory Centers (DÖDAK).
The event was attended by ESOGU TÖMER administrators, academic and administrative staff from Bilecik Şeyh Edebali, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart, Erzincan Binali Yıldırım, Erzurum Technical, Eskişehir Technical, Fenerbahçe, Fırat, Gazi, Gaziantep, Isparta Applied Sciences, İstanbul Gedik, İstanbul Kent, İstanbul, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam, Representatives of Turkish Language Teaching Centers of Karabük, Kastamonu, KTO Karatay, Konya Selçuk, Malatya Turgut Özal, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman, Sakarya Applied Sciences, Sakarya, Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs, Uşak, Yeditepe and Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Universities. Prof. Dr. Oktay Berber said, "Representatives of Turkish language teaching centers at universities came together in meetings held at different times and expressed the problems experienced in the field so far. We think that the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Language Learning/Preparatory Centers (DÖDAK), which was established in 2024 in order to solve these problems and to establish institutional processes and to carry out language teaching on an international scale, will make important contributions to our universities. On this occasion, we would like to thank Prof. Dr. Nezir Temur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DÖDAK, for accepting our invitation and contributing to the realization of the event, and our TÖMER representatives for their participation." In the online conference held afterwards, Prof. Dr. Nezir Temur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DÖDAK, gave information about the functioning and activities of DÖDAK. Explaining what needs to be done in the application process and how the process works, Prof. Dr. Temur stated that the evidence required in the application process is prepared according to national and international accreditation bodies. Stating that the primary aim of DÖDAK is to standardize quality assessment, Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Nezir Temur also stated that they strive to make DÖDAK a national and international association. He also stated that the aim of the association is to make the institutions applying for accreditation consistent, traceable and accountable without interfering with their own institutional cultures. Prof. Dr. Temur also mentioned the activities in the following processes and added that they will hold an Evaluator Training and Evaluator Student Training meeting in June. The conference ended with comments and suggestions.
